We collect different types of information depending on whether you are a Customer or an Electrician.

For Customers (Requesting a Quote):

Contact Information: Your name and email address.
Job Information: The job description you provide, including any details about your property.
Why we collect it: To generate your AI-powered estimate and to send your quote request (and our "magic link") to the specific electrician you are contacting.

For Electricians (Account Holders):

Account Information: Your email address and a hashed password (managed securely by our auth provider, Supabase).
Profile Information: Your full name, company name, and public handle (e.g., sparkquote.com/your-handle).
Settings Information: Your pricing preferences (like default labour rate and profit margin) and your display preferences (like whether to show material breakdowns).
Why we collect it: To create and secure your account, build your public profile page, and correctly apply your business logic when generating quotes.

Information We Collect Automatically:

Cookies: We use essential cookies provided by our authentication partner (Supabase) to keep you logged in securely. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
Usage Data: Anonymized data about how you interact with our website, such as which pages you visit.

3. How We Use Your Information

To Provide the Service: This is our primary use. We use your data to generate quotes, create public profiles, secure your dashboard, and connect customers with electricians.
To Communicate With You:
- For Customers: We use your email to send you the "magic link" to your finalized quote, and for the electrician to contact you.
- For Electricians: We use your email to notify you of new quote requests and when a customer has approved or declined a quote.
To Process Data: Your job description is processed by our secure automation (n8n) and AI partners to generate the quote breakdown.

We do not sell your personal data. We only share it in the following limited ways:

From Customer to Electrician: When a customer requests a quote from an electrician's profile, we share the customer's name, email, and job description with that specific electrician.
From Electrician to Customer: An electrician's company name and handle are visible to the public on their profile page.
With Our Service Providers: We use trusted third-party providers to run our platform:
- Supabase: Provides our database and user authentication. All your data is securely stored with them.
- Resend: Handles the sending of all notification and "magic link" emails.
- Netlify (or your host): Hosts our website.
- n8n (our instance): Our secure automation server that processes the quote data.

5. Your Data Rights (UK GDPR)

You have rights over your personal data.

Right to Access: You can request a copy of the data we hold about you.
Right to Rectification: You can correct inaccurate data. (Electricians can do this at any time on their /dashboard/settings page).
Right to Erasure: You can request that we delete your data, subject to certain legal obligations.

We take your data security seriously. We use Supabase's built-in security features, including Row Level Security (RLS), to ensure that an electrician can only access their own quotes and profile data. Customer quotes are only viewable via a secure, unguessable "magic link" (a unique UUID).
